Michael Chong, MP for Wellington-Halton Hills
Michael will speak about his Private Member’s Bill, The Reform Act. The Reform Act puts forward 3 simple reforms to strengthen Parliament by restoring local control over party nominations, strengthening caucus as a decision-making body, and reinforcing the accountability of party members to caucuses.

Brian Tanguay

Professor Brian Tanguay, Electoral Reform expert and member of Fair Vote Canada’s National Advisory Board.

Brian will speak about Proportional Representation, an electoral system used by 27/34 OECD countries whereby most votes count towards electing a representative, and the percentage of seats a party receives in the legislature roughly matches its popular support.
