Description: The City of Guelph is undertaking a Community Wellbeing Initiative consultation process. Transition Guelph wants to ensure that the context for the Wellbeing Initiative includes the emerging scenario of fossil-fuel and resource constraints, climate change and resulting economic impact. Confronting these issues will necessitate a fundamental redesign of society, not merely ‘tweaking’ the status quo. The concept of transition and the need for resilience – both personal and community – is starting to resonate with more and more people although, for the majority, this is still at an unvoiced subconscious level or, if discussed, only in an unfocused way or in terms limited to the economic sphere. We want to ensure that the City hears the Transition message loud and clear…and we need your help.

Guelph citizens are invited to participate in a community action visioning forum for the Community Wellbeing Initiative on October 11th at the River Run Centre from 3:00pm to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM to discuss priorities and actions. We would like to have as many Transitioners at the Forum as possible, to voice the message that the status-quo will no longer suffice.
Note that registration for the forum, including dinner, is required. We hope you can join us and add your opinion to the initiative.
