Description: “Timeline/Waterline: Grand Culture at the Confluence”

The 18th Annual Grand River Watershed Heritage Day is being held in Guelph this year at the Col. John McCrae Legion.

2015 is a very special year for our community: the world famous poem “In Flanders Fields” was written by Col. John McCrae 100 years ago.

The presentations will include some history of the Ontario Reformatory and its transformation into The Speedwell Hospital to support injured soldiers recovery during and after the First World War. The afternoon will focus on our two heritage tributaries in Guelph and the re-purposing of the Guelph Correctional Centre site.
