SPEAK UP for the SPEED TOWN HALL

Title: SPEAK UP for the SPEED TOWN HALL
Location: Knox Presbyterian Church, Quebec St. Enter by the Baker St door.
Description: Learn about the unique Niska Bridge and the heritage conservation lands around it.
Come out and voice your opposition to the destruction of our natural heritage.
Hosted by the Guelph-Wellington Architectural Conservancy Ontario.
The EA will come to Council in December we think. R. J. Burnside Engineering is recommending that the bridge be replaced with a two-lane bridge and that the road be widened. This will increase traffic, increase run off into the river and endanger wild life, fish and the water quality.
We know that the GRCA intends to sell off two large chunks of the former Kortright Water Fowl park to developers for 400+ townhouses and two large sports fields. That’s why they want the road widened.

We hope that people will come to the Town Hall meeting in large numbers to express their opposition to the two proposals. We hope to get the bridge designated and repaired and twinned with a bike and pedestrian bridge. We hope to have the whole area designated a Cultural Heritage Landscape so that it is protected.
