The 2012 Summer Institute Presents: Non-Violent Communication Workshop

Title: The 2012 Summer Institute Presents: Non-Violent Communication Workshop
Location: the Square (86 Wyndham Street North) – beside the Canada Post office
Description: Workshop Description: NVC otherwise known as Compassionate Communication involves both communication skills that foster compassionate relating and consciousness of the interdependence of our well-being, and teaches equitable communication power dynamics in order to work collaboratively to meet the needs of all concerned. This approach to communication emphasizes compassion as the motivation for action rather than fear, guilt, shame, blame, coercion, threat or justification for punishment. NVC is about creating a quality of connection that gets everyone’s needs met through a reciprocally communicative method of understanding. NVC is a progressive skill set that compliments consensus decision making and facilitation as well as assists in the fostering of anti-oppressive safe space.
