Description: In a digital age of global interconnectedness, global challenges, and social media, activists and agents of social and political change must learn how to effectively communicate their ideas and platforms to a global audience. Even simple media editing software like Windows Movie Maker can be a powerful tool when it is used to create video presentations that can be shared on social networking websites like Youtube and Dailymotion. Mass movements from Cairo to New York have effectively made use of these strategies to get around media blackouts and censorship. Come and learn how you too can effectively make use of simple software and social media to deliver hard hitting videos for whatever cause you may be championing. The world isn’t waiting, the time is now.

Come on out to OPIRG Guelph to plug yourself in to digital activism!
